3 arrested for incident with catapults in Stanhope

Earlier this evening, police responded to reports of people using a catapult to target a building in Stanhope. Three individuals have been arrested and remain in custody.

We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Otterden Close between 17:00 and 18:00 on Sunday, 5th October 2025. If you have any relevant information or CCTV footage, please contact police on 101, quoting reference 46/172520/25.

We remain committed to tackling anti-social behaviour. Possessing a catapult without lawful reason and causing damage is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Your support is vital in helping us with our investigation.
